Symbol DS9208 Barcode Scanner – Configuration

After installing the Symbol Virtual COM port drivers and connecting the scanner….

STEP 1 – Scan code below to restore default settings….


STEP 2 – Scan code below to set configuration….


STEP 3 – Set Static COM Port




STEP 4 – Open up Device Manager on Terminal  (Right Click on Start menu > Device Manager > Ports (COM & LPT)  >  Zebra CDC Scanner (COMx).  Take note of what COM port that the Zebra CDC Scanner assign to and configure Settings Editor to same COM Port.    Please note that below is an example and does not always use COM 7.   Device Manager may show a different COM Port as it looks for the first available COM port to assign the scanner to.
